Through an action plan, on which the company has worked intensively in recent months, Grupo Piñero is adapting to the new economic, social and environmental paradigm, based on sustainability criteria and using the recommendations of the United Nations Global Compact as a framework for action. With its strategy it aims to generate changes and face the new scenario as a stronger and more efficient company.
Grupo Piñero confirms its commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism and reinforces its standards by adapting them to the new post-Covid-19 health and hygiene needs, in collaboration with HS Consulting, to guarantee correct compliance with the regulations of each of the countries and destinations where it operates, the recommendations of the WHO and the protocols of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE).
Resumption of activities starting 1 July
Initially, Grupo Piñero will open six of its Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts on 1 July. The rest will be opening gradually according to demand and the evolution of the situation, also taking into account the peculiarities of each destination.
Specifically, two of its most emblematic hotels in Spain will be reopening: Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje in Tenerife and Bahia Principe Sunlight Coral Playa in Palma de Mallorca. In the Dominican Republic, another two will be reopening their doors: Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar and Bahia Principe Fantasia Punta Cana, both located in the Bahia Principe Bavaro complex at Punta Cana. Also resuming activities are the Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal, located on the Riviera Maya in Mexico, and the Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica in Jamaica.
Soltour, along with the retail networks, will continue to offer peace of mind, flexibility and safety to travellers
Soltour, one of the biggest and oldest Spanish tour operators, with more than 45 years of experience, is already operating on national flights since 22 June, and will be able to resume international traffic from 1 July, and foreseeably transcontinental flights to the Caribbean from 15 July. The resumption of its activity is contingent upon the opening of safe air corridors, and subject to the regulations of each of the destinations, always ensuring compliance with protocols and security measures of its suppliers in each of the countries where it operates.
In addition, to give its customers greater peace of mind, Soltour has extended its travel assistance insurance coverage to include possible health incidents related to Covid-19. It is also continuing with its policy of flexibility in cancellations, promoting through campaigns a policy of reservations without cancellation fees up to 15 days before departure, which will be in force during the month of July and for trips with departure until 30 April 2021.
Firm commitment to health and safety
In order to offer maximum guarantees to its customers and collaborators, during these months Grupo Piñero has designed a comprehensive plan of health and safety measures covering the entire travel cycle. The plan focuses on four core principles:

3. Guaranteeing safe and responsible services with careful and personalised attention.

To guarantee adequate implementation of and compliance with these measures, which are broken down at the operational level into different specific Protocols for each business unit and service area, the Group has created a Corporate Health and Safety Committee, which reports to the Corporate Responsibility Committee, and a plan monitoring committee for each business unit and each destination. The Group has also reshaped its services and dialogue with its stakeholders.
