December 20 marks Human Solidarity Day, based on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This program is based on eradicating poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring dignity for all.
It puts the focus on people and the planet, as well as human rights and international action to help people overcome poverty, hunger, and disease.
To celebrate this international day, we come together in special solidarity throughout the month of December. We are aiming to collaborate in the day-to-day schooling of girls and boys from locations close to Bahia Principe destinations: the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica, and Spain.
Interested in participating? It’s very simple: bring a gift on your vacation. It should consist of school supplies, such as pencils, notebooks, etc. Once in Bahia Principe, you can drop it off at reception. The supplies we collect will be delivered to the following educational institutions:
• La Romana: Escuela del Soco
• Bavaro Resort: Orfanato Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos
• Jamaica: Hoolebury and St. Ann Elementary School
• Tenerife: Aldeas Infantiles
• Mexico- Escuela Chemuyil
• Samaná: Escuela de los Cacaos and Lidias’s Kids
All guests who visit these destinations during the month of December can participate and thus work with us to improve the quality of life of the communities and regions that surround us, promoting culture and participating in their economic development.
